Meet Your Chef

Like our ingredients, Matt Ingrao grew up in Jamestown, NY. His passion for food started while he was attending Jamestown High School. It was this passion that drove him to study advanced cooking techniques and classical French cuisine at the Le Cordon Bleu program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

After graduating in 2006, Ingrao ventured back North to study under the tutelage of Head Chef Dan Miller at Peak N’ Peak Ski Resort. With his new understanding of ingredients and flavors, he moved to Buffalo to work with some of the big names in the Buffalo Culinary industry. He spent time in the kitchen working for Russel Salvatore at Russel’s Steaks and Chops and for David Schutte at The Creekview.

In 2013, Ingrao’s culinary career to date came to a head when he moved to St. Augustine, Florida to open an award-winning family restaurant with his father. The Black and Blue Grill specialized in hand-cut steaks and fresh seafood. Within their first year of business, Ingrao and his father won the Best Family Restaurant award in the Taste of St. Augustine.

Matt Ingrao came back home to Jamestown to head up the kitchen here at Pearl City Hops Restaurant and Tavern. Building off of his lifetime of culinary influences and techniques from some of the top chefs up and down the East Coast, Ingrao has crafted his new menu from scratch featuring gastropub inspiration and a small-town southern flare.

Our Story

We opened our doors in 2019 with the goal of being the Jamestown population’s favorite new hangout spot. Our team is passionate about providing top-notch, affordable food that you’ll be craving for days after your visit– we won’t judge you for coming back five times a week.

Just like our town, we are passionate about our beer.  It inspires our menu, is included in our recipes and is paired with the final product.

With our extensive craft beer list and ever-rotating specials, you’ll be able to find your favorite and experience something new every time you visit.

We don’t just feature these local craft creations at our bar. They are a vital ingredient in our dinner menu as well. Come check us out when you’re in town. We’d love to make a meal for you!
